TERM ONE OVERVIEW

Integrated Unit
This term the children in 1G and 1W will be on a quest to discover the joy of Nursery Rhymes. We have already enjoyed the excitement of new uniforms and new books - but there are so many more things to discover. Miss Breanne Watts and Mrs Tiletha Gale will be working together to guide the children in discovering all the new and wonderful things they can do and learn in Year One. Our classrooms have a Nursery Rhymes noticeboard which we will be forever evolving to give an insight into our classroom learning during the term. We will also incorporate our Nursery Rhyme theme into weekly show and tell. To ensure that the Leaping Frogs in 1G continue to grow in friendship with the Super Stars in 1W, we join together with each other through the week for learning experiences. We also love sitting together to eat at morning tea and lunch!
Religious Education
We are exploring our beliefs in God and Jesus, and how that affects the way we live our lives. We have discovered the story of ‘Creation' and what it means to us, and we will now look at the life and times of Jesus. We are using textual resources, hands on activities and moving in our surroundings to experience these beliefs.
The season of Lent is upon us soon, so we will explore the Easter season and rituals in greater depth.
