Year Four

TERM ONE OVERVIEW

 Integrated Unit

During this term the children in Grades 4B, 4O and 4N will focus on a unit entitled “Together we Grow”. We will learn a little more about our strengths and talents, but most importantly how we are able to put these together and understand that one person can’t achieve much by themselves but when we work well TOGETHER a lot can be achieved.

Our learning journey will then take us to Cockatoo Island where children are introduced to the concept of democracy. Children will learn the basic principles of living in a democratic society by taking on the role of a bird and creating their own island. In doing this the students will need to learn to live in a way that is harmonious and fair for all. They will also be learning about bird life and the care of their habitats (Science).

 Religious Education

In religious education this term we will be looking at people of justice. Through a variety of activities we will have the opportunity to learn how to be people of justice, we will then consolidate our learning by being people of justice ourselves and bringing justice and morality to our local community.
